Mountain Heights of the Christian Faith

Mountain Heights of the Christian Faith

God’s word has been given to us for both our information and our transformation. It has the power not only to inform us of God’s love but also to impart to us His life. This is what Jesus was referring to when He rebuked Satan during the temptations and said, “Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God,” Matthew 4:4. It’s also what Paul tells us when he says, “All Scripture is God breathed,” 2 Timothy 3:16. This means that not only did God inspire His Word, but He has also imparted His life and power into it, for the breath of God is the life of God. In Hebrews 4:12 we are told, “The Word of God is alive and active.” The book of Romans has a special and significant place in God’s revelation and church history. Augustine, Martin Luther and John Wesley all speak of its importance in their spiritual enlightenment and salvation experience. Chapter eight has been variously described as “the Inner Sanctuary within the Cathedral of Faith,” “the Tree of Life in the midst of the Garden of Eden” and “the highest peak in a range of mountains.” Such are some of the metaphors used to describe and extol this sublime passage of Scripture within what many consider to be one of the most important books in the Bible. The chapter begins by saying that in Christ there is no condemnation and ends by telling us that if we continue in Christ there can be no separation from God’s love. Dr Daniel Akhazemea has done an excellent job in making this chapter come alive. It is full of spiritual insight and practical application. His writing reveals the mind of a theologian and the heart of a pastor. He inspires us with his commentary and challenges us to live in and live out its revelations. Come journey with him and scale the mountain heights of the Christian faith. You will be greatly blessed and as you apply its truths your life will be transformed.

I warmly commend this excellent book to you.

File CRC Information for Students on Online Resources

The nature of the Internet is such that the quality of information varies enormously.  Students must be careful of using sites that are not of sufficient academic standard. This document therefore provides a carefully selected directory of useful links that students may use to further their research.
